About IBGE The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, (Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatistica), IBGE, is the main provider of data and information about the Country. Such information meets the demands of several types of segments of civil society, as well as the bodies at the federal, state and municipal level. IBGE is an entity run by the federal administration, under the Ministry of Economy. It has four directorates and two central bodies. About ANP The National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (Agência Nacional do Petróleo, Gás Natural e Biocombustíveis), ANP, is the federal body responsible for regulating the oil and natural gas and biofuels industries in Brazil. Linked to the Ministry of Mines and Energy, it is a federal autarchy that executes national policy for the sector, with a focus on guaranteeing fuel supply and defending consumer interests. The Agency regulates more than 110 thousand companies in activities ranging from the prospecting of oil and natural gas in Brazil's sedimentary basins to the procedures to ensure the quality of fuels sold to the final consumer.

About Ipeadata Ipeadata is a statistical portal of the Institute for Applied Economic Research (Ipea). Ipea is a public institution that provides technical support to the federal government concerning public policies: fiscal, social, and economic. Ipea's headquarters are located in Brasília, and there is a branch in Rio de Janeiro. The Institute has around 800 employees. More than 200 of its research staff members are doctors and post-doctors. Ipea was founded in 1964 to aid the federal government in planning the country's strategic development and growth. Since then, the Institute has assisted and evaluated the federal government in all its social and economic actions to improve public policies' efficiency as a whole.
